We’re sorry for the misunderstanding and frustration. Due to a full schedule that day, we were not able to perform a wait-in diagnostic, but we did offer to have your vehicle left with us so we could get to it as quickly as possible. We want to be clear that we treat every customer equally and respectfully—discrimination is not something we tolerate. We would be glad to speak with you directly if you’d like to discuss this further.

We understand that not all repairs need to be done at once, and we always give our customers options. We’d be happy to discuss your visit further if you’d like to reach out.

Hi David. Can you please message me with your invoice number? I am not finding any new tires purchased by anyone named David all the way back to April. I see that you are saying that we were overpriced. If you got a quote from us for tires, but you thought that was overpriced, why did you allow us install the tires? Did you purchase the tires from some place else & we just installed them? Also, if we just installed tires, we would have not even opened your hood to do any work there. I guess I'm a little confused. Please let me know the invoice number and date so that I can research this matter. Thank you.

Check engine light appeared immediately following an oil change service.
Business reply on Google
Your review is implying that we somehow “rigged” your O2 sensors to fail when we did your oil change. That is quite a serious charge. When we do an oil change, there are certain things that are checked that can be seen with the naked eye. A bad O2 sensor is something that could not possibly be seen during an oil change inspection. Once a check engine light comes on, the code can then lead us to that problem. We have no way of knowing if or when some parts will fail. Just because your car has been well taken care of, parts do fail – they don’t last forever. You have over 206,000 miles on your vehicle. If your O2 sensors were never changed, then they lasted a very long time. When you do your serious follow up, you will find that Action Auto Repair has been in business over 30 years. We could not have been in business that long doing the things you have implied. Our customers are very loyal to us – they trust us to be honest and knowledgeable. I’m sorry that your O2 sensors failed, but it had nothing to do with the fact that you got an oil change right before.

customer alleges intentional vehicle sabotage and excessive diagnostic fees
Business reply on Google
Action Auto Repair is a reputable auto repair shop that has been in business for over 30 years. Our many loyal customers rely on us to keep their vehicles running safely & smoothly. Sabotaging vehicles is something we would never do – it is offensive that someone would even suggest it. We do charge $150 for our techs to do extensive testing. I don’t know what dealers charge. Yes, we could have simply charged the AC system with freon (a service that does have a fee), but that wouldn’t have solved the AC problem. We prefer to advise a customer when a service isn’t needed or won’t be the solution. When Mr. Hernandez told us that the check engine light was on, we pulled the codes. Those codes indicated circuit issues. He was told that those issues needed to be investigated, but he declined. We cannot do a repair without knowing exactly what the solution is. Mr. Hernandez was never charged for the time we spent on his vehicle. It is very unfortunate that Mr. Hernandez, who had visited us twice in the past, now feels that we are dishonest people. We are very committed to giving all our customers the best auto repair service possible.

Hi Corinne. Can you tell me what kind of vehicle and what repair you are talking about? I assume you came in to the shop in person and got the quote? Did we physically look at the vehicle to give you the quote?

This was the 1st time your husband brought this vehicle to us. Our policy is to use whatever the manufacturer recommends. There is a reason they want that particular oil in your vehicle, and the reason is to make your engine last longer. We want your engine to last longer too. When your husband returned to pick up your car, he mentioned that he did not realize we would use synthetic oil and was surprised about the price. To compensate, Joe gave him not 1, but 2 additional punches on his oil change card (get 4 oil changes and get the 5th free - including synthetic). So that day, he received 3 punches on the card which more than covered the difference in the price. When your husband left our shop, he seemed to be fine with that arrangement. We were very surprised, then, when we read the review you left us. Action Auto Repair has been in business over 30 years and our customers and their vehicles are very important to us. Our customers trust that we will do what is best for their vehicles. We are sorry that you feel that you can no longer return to our shop. We are also sorry that your husband's company went out of business and wish the best for you this upcoming Holiday Season.

Thanks for the feedback, Jaime. You're right, we only use the parts we believe are going to last. That's why our warranty is 3 year / 36,000 miles. We find that the peace of mind this gives our customers is what most of them want. That's not to say that is the case for everyone in every situation. Our goal is to provide great service in a clean and friendly environment using the best parts possible so that our customers don't have to keep coming back when parts fail. I think your review was honest and accurate. Thanks again.
