Kennith, When you pulled into our shop with a leaking rack and pinion, the first thing we told you was: that is a very common issue with this generation of the Acura TL. For this reason, we didn’t recommend replacing it with a used one. This is what you wanted to do since you were on a budget. We agreed to work on your vehicle only if you got the used part yourself, as not to be liable since we knew this was not a smart choice. Also, we wouldn’t offer any warranty on this specific repair because a new replacement part was not being used. Nevertheless, you agreed and went to Hunts Point and bought a used replacement part. A month later, this rack and pinion started leaking. You went back to our shop to ask for advice. We told you, again, that it would be best to buy a new one. But instead, yet again, you went and purchased another used rack and pinion and we were kind enough to only charge you half for labor. This took place back in November of 2020.
