We are a small nonprofit organization with a small administrative staff that work tirelessly to facilitate training and checkouts to a high standard. Our aircraft are individually owned and we market them for rental. We have an obligation that members are safe, proficient and compliant so the owners of our aircraft can feel confident in those who rent with us. What this means is we facilitate a checkout process that involves not only a proficiency check (for your safety, as well as our insurance requirements), but document verification to our policies and procedures & regulatory expectations. This is not uncommon in the general aviation rental market. When a checkout occurs for a new member, we verify documents and then provide a checkout packet to set the expectation that you understand the aircraft and are proficient to the level of your certificate.
