Brian's vehicle was brought to our shop with an air conditioning concern. As part of our standard diagnostic process, our technicians performed an A/C system evaluation, which included recovering and measuring the refrigerant charge. This is a routine and necessary step to determine whether the system is leaking, overcharged, or otherwise malfunctioning. Our records indicate that the customer authorized the diagnostic procedure verbally over two phone calls as well as by signing the drop off envelope. The A/C recharge was performed as part of that diagnostic process. At no point did ER Auto Care perform work outside the scope of the diagnostic evaluation or without the customer’s authorization. In addition, when Brian called us in April expressing frustration, we offered to cover the recharge cost, so as not to charge him twice, if Brian pays for the diag fee at our sister location since we couldn't accommodate him that week. Phone call records indicate Brian agreeing to this route but no repair was completed.
Improper repairs caused vehicle damage and shop refused warranty coverage.

We have no service records of your visit at our Upper Arlington location, however we do have record of an inspection being completed on 10/03/2022 at our Plain City location. There is the potential that if you only replaced the pipe, it may have been the $95, but to do the full repair correctly, the tech was recommending to replace the radiator along with the pipe.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. It’s clear that the visit left you feeling frustrated and blindsided—especially around the charges and the follow-up on the struts. That’s never the experience we want for any of our customers. I want to clarify a couple of things: our records show that the estimates were quoted at the time of service. However, if you didn’t receive a printed copy, I’d be more than happy to send you the full breakdown so we can review it together. Regarding the struts—since they were customer-supplied back in 2023, they did not come with a warranty. But hat said, if Monroe has provided a written statement indicating the failure was due to our installation, we’re absolutely willing to have a conversation about what the next step could look like, including potential replacement. Would you be open to discussing this further so we can find a resolution that feels fair to you?

Ozgur, I'm sorry you had a bad experience with us. Please reach out to our office at that location and ask to speak to our general manager and he will make it right with you. As to the accident, that had nothing to do with you or any ER Autocare representatives. We did not park the client vehicle. The client parked their own vehicle and those two clients involved resolved their accident issue calmly.
