Thank you for being a valued customer with us over the past 10 years. We truly appreciate your long-standing loyalty, which is why we completely understand your frustration regarding the high repair estimate for your 2016 Subaru Forester. I would like to clarify what occurred during your recent visit and address your concerns: • Previous vs. Current Repairs: During your visit in 2025, we identified a small refrigerant leak and replaced the AC Expansion Valve and Service Ports before recharging the system. On this recent visit, however, a complete diagnosis revealed that several major components of the AC system had failed, which led to the higher repair quote. • The Courtesy Recharge: Knowing the estimate was high, our team attempted a courtesy recharge to try to get you temporary cold air within your budget. Unfortunately, the current leak is so significant that the system cannot hold pressure, which is why it is now blowing warm air. We always aim to offer cost-effective options, but when multiple primary components fail, a full system replacement is the only way to restore lasting cold air. Because you have been a trusted customer for nearly a decade, I would love the chance to

Thank you for the feedback, sir. After inspecting the vehicle, I personally contacted you by phone to inquire if the vacuum pump was recently replaced. You confirmed it had in fact been repaired at another shop. It was then that I informed you that it was unclear whether the vacuum pump was still leaking or whether it was the valve cover due to the close proximity of these two components. I let you know that to verify the source of the leak, the engine had to be cleaned and time had to be spent running the engine and reassessing the source of leak. You agreed to the $75 fee for this troubleshooting. All the best to you. Pete Larson, Larson’s Automotive
