movers damaged furniture and property and refused to honor damage claims

Business reply on Google

Update: 2/13/25 -Unfortunately this is a false review of a person that has never used our services. This is not representative of our processes, or an experience with Make A Move. We take all feedback very seriously, and try our best to rectify any situation or concerns. We follow strict guidelines and regulations regarding any claims for a move. If this person had a moving claim, we would absolutely have record of this experience. We feel bad that they had a poor experience with a local mover, but it certainly was not in our care. Dear Ma’am; Hearing experiences like this breaks our hearts, which is made worst by the multiple issues you describe. But we can’t find your name in our systems at Make A Move or Bekins Van Lines. We also checked with our van line affiliation, Wheaton | Bekins Van Lines and your name doesn’t appear there, either. Last month, someone posted a fault review against our company, but we believe what you say by the details you provided. We would like to help you resolve this with the correct company. Could you please call us at 704-378-8588. As of 04/10/18 this unknown customer has yet to provide details that we helped her with her relocation.

customer overcharged for delivery time and unauthorized additional stops

Business reply on Google

We want to thank this reviewer for giving us and others this feedback on her experience. We can certainly understand how she feels and why. We were at fault for not communicating actions of the retailer, nor the level of service we provide to our customers to protect them from problems with their newly purchased furniture. For this we wholly apologize. We deliver furniture and household goods for an exclusive set of high-end and unique furniture stores, galleries and designers. Our customers purchase top quality products and our services reflect the care and respect this items demand. Our teams are highly trained to inspect for flaws and imperfections with these special items and when something is not as we think a customer would expect it to be, we have an obligation to them to point that irregularity out to the store. As we did in this case. When the team picking up the item saw an 'opportunity for improvement', they refused the pickup until it could be addressed. The store took that opportunity to adjust the item, which took well over an hour for them to make things right. Where we failed was in not notifying the customer of the situation; thinking the store had because she had

customer was charged for travel time not previously explained

Business reply on Google

For simple deliveries, we only charge our customers for the time we pay our guys; from the time they leave our warehouse, to the store selling the item, to the customer's house, and an estimated time for the team to get back to the warehouse. We feel it's fair to pay our teams for the time they are working for us, which includes time to and from each location. In order to keep our customer's cost down, we don't charge a lot of extra fees like other delivery companies. Before we book a job, we make it very clear how we charge, in three different ways, with our Terms and Conditions. The staff is not allowed to schedule any jobs without the customer confirming their acceptance of our procedures, whether they choose to read them in an email, on our website or printed on the back of the Work Order.
