Stored items were moved and damaged with missing security keys.

Thank you Angel for giving us the opportunity to respond the issue you raised. No employee from Mira Mesa Self Storage has been in the storage unit referenced in your review. When this account became delinquent in 2015, as part of the lien process, we cut the lock on the space to make sure it hadn’t been abandoned. We took pictures of the condition of the unit and then secured it with a lock and a numbered tag. The tag and the lock must remain on the the unit until it is either auctioned or made current by the customer. This maintains the integrity of the auction process. As a matter of policy, we do not keep customer keys in our office. This keeps the key to the unit solely in the customer’s possession and that protects everyone. If boxes are not stacked properly, over time, it is possible for shifting to occur which would result in a fall. We appreciate that you have been with us for several years and this incident can serve as a warning to others to be careful when stacking their boxes. Thank you.
