Customer charged for unreceived services and unfair cancellation fees.

Business reply on Google

Hello Admelinda, looks like you replaced your 5-star review with this "snobby" one, despite the email you sent about how much you loved your manicure and techs. Our website has a clear "Read before Booking" section that breaks down our 20 minute grace period. This is for our clients in case you end up stuck in traffic, or are just running behind. It's also for our techs as we are focused on quality and precision, and sometimes art can take a little bit longer than planned! It's a generous policy that most clients love, and is demonstrated clearly on our site. Our cancelation policy protects our nail techs from losing money on a service they showed up to perform, whether they get a client or not. As for putting customers first, we treat our clients with the utmost respect, but our techs and employees also deserve to be spoken to kindly and treated with the same respect. Keep it snobby, keep it cute.

Business reply on Google

Hey Derek, I’m so sorry we could not accommodate you that Sunday. We reviewed the surveillance video in the salon, and it appears the technician had just come out of the restroom and was startled when you and your daughter arrived. She did apologize, and although she seemed to be in a hurry, she was still polite. We will speak with her and reinforce the importance of being more attentive to walk-in clients. As for your request to be serviced at 3:15 PM, the salon closes at 4 PM on Sundays. While we understand it was your daughter’s birthday, there would not have been enough time remaining in the day to properly complete any service. We appreciate your review, but trying to accommodate a last-minute request should not fall on the salon due to poor time planning. I hope you have a Snooby day .

Customer was turned away despite being told to arrive for appointment.

Business reply on Google

Hey Hannah, Thank you for your feedback. As a small business, we truly value every client experience and take all reviews seriously. We do receive a high volume of calls each day, and many clients request walk-in availability. As mentioned during your call, walk-in appointments are handled on a first-come, first-served basis. We also offered to book you a guaranteed appointment over the phone, which would have required a card on file. In this case, another client arrived before you, so we accommodated them accordingly. Our policies are in place to protect our independent artists’ schedules and help prevent no-shows, especially when no contact information or card is provided. For future visits, we recommend booking an appointment in advance either online or over the phone to ensure your spot is secured. We appreciate you reaching out and hope to have the opportunity to provide you with a better experience in the future.

Thanks for leaving the review. We refused to service you and stopped the service immediately after both technicians did not want to continue service due to the disrespect shown while being serviced. We will never allow clients to disrespect staff, employees, or the owner while being serviced and accommodated at the salon. -Team Snob

Unprofessional management behavior and lack of sanitation protocols during service.

Business reply on Google

I’m sorry to hear that you were unhappy with your experience and with how the salon operates. I’d like to provide some clarification regarding a few of the concerns mentioned. All of the technicians in our salon are independent contractors, and each technician is allowed to work in a way that is most comfortable and effective for them while still following state board regulations. Wearing gloves is not a state requirement for any service, and in some cases technicians choose not to wear them because it allows them to better feel and properly work on the heels during a pedicure. If gloves had been requested, the technician would have been happy to wear them. Regarding the seating situation, our pedicure and manicure stations are in close proximity. For safety reasons, the manager on duty is responsible for keeping all walkways clear so technicians can move safely between clients. When the manager asked that the chair be moved to allow space for the technician to work, it was simply to maintain a safe and clear walkway. In addition, during your service two different chrome powders and chrome application products were used while deciding on the final look. Changing products during the

Staff were rude and unprofessional during the manicure appointment.

Business reply on Google

Hello AC, We’re sorry to hear you didn’t enjoy your experience. After reviewing video surveillance and speaking with the staff who worked that day, the interaction unfolded a bit differently. You arrived as a walk-in on one of our busiest days of the year, the Friday before Valentine’s Day. Despite this, we were able to accommodate you within 10 minutes. Our manager on duty confirmed that you requested a gel manicure with a clear coat only, and based on that information, you were placed with the appropriate technician who had both the availability and comfort level to perform that service. Once seated, you informed your technician that you wanted design work, which significantly changed both timing and pricing. The manager overheard this and clarified to staff that you had initially requested only a clear coat otherwise, you would not have been scheduled with that technician. The design you later requested involved detailed fine-line art, which that technician does not offer. She specializes in clean gel manicures without art, and that type of work makes her uncomfortable. To accommodate you, the manager arranged a tech switch when it was time for the art portion. Your appointment

Unlicensed technician performed services causing physical pain and lack of transparency

Business reply on Google

Hello Madeline, You’re such a snob and we love it. After reviewing your appointment, it appears you received exactly what you booked: a perfectly polished gel manicure and a perfectly polished gel pedicure. During your visit, you seemed to have a great time and expressed that you enjoyed your technician. Because of that, we’re a bit confused as to why you didn’t voice any discomfort if you were feeling uneasy at any point. Your gel manicure was completed first, and we had other technicians available who could have taken over your pedicure service if you had expressed concerns. Based on both your in-person experience and our video review, everything reflected a satisfied client. At checkout, when asked if everything went well, you shared positive feedback and did not express any complaints. We do apologize regarding the sensitivity around your cuticles. Some clients are more sensitive than others, and your technician did check in with you throughout your pedicure to ensure you were comfortable. As for paying full price you received the full services requested without interruption or issue. Our technician is fully trained in gel manicures and pedicures. While Nail Snob Phoenix does o

Thank you for leaving a one-star review based solely on our opening time that day. We had an employee experience an emergency that morning and they were unable to open the salon as scheduled. Another technician had to step in and open later than usual to accommodate the situation. We are a salon of independent artists, which allows our team the flexibility to handle real-life emergencies when they arise. If you needed an appointment that badly, you should have booked online, where our hours and policies are clearly listed. Have snobby day !

Hello Daniela, We’re sorry to hear that your third visit felt different, especially considering you mentioned your first two experiences were great. We do appreciate the snobby one-star review, it definitely caught our attention. Arriving the day after Christmas and choosing to cancel because the professional was running one minute behind was… interesting. For clarity, you were texted immediately at 10:31am and our social media team responded within minutes to let you know the technician had arrived. Waiting an extra 30 seconds for the doors to open clearly wasn’t your vibe and honestly, that is very on brand for a snob. As outlined in the cancellation policy you agreed to at booking, same-day cancellations are charged at full service price. Policies apply to everyone, even our most bougie clients that have money to throw. Wishing you a Merry Christmas and happy holidays. Team Nail Snob PHX ✨

Staff provided poor customer service and unsatisfactory nail design quality.

Business reply on Google

Hello Haley, We’re so sorry to hear you weren’t completely thrilled with your service, but we do appreciate you leaving such a snobby review — it fits your vibe, and we love it. Thank you for providing your inspiration photo; it helped us review your appointment in detail. It looks like your technician followed a “freestyle” approach, which is exactly what we advertise on our website. A freestyle allows the nail tech creative liberty to interpret your design while incorporating any input you give. During your appointment, you shared your inspiration and also let the tech add her own flare — including the gold accents you chose — which was totally fine. When you expressed concerns about the flowers being different from your photo, the tech even had you inspect your nails before curing them in the lamp. You confirmed you were satisfied enough to proceed. After your set was finished, you mentioned being unhappy with the flowers, and the tech offered to redo them. You declined, saying it was fine to leave them as-is. At checkout, you expressed dissatisfaction again and requested a discount. Our receptionist reminded you that the tech had offered multiple times during the service to mak

Poor nail quality and failure to honor scheduled appointment

Business reply on Google

Hello Brandy, I’m so sorry to hear you had a bad experience with your nails! At Nail Snob, we always offer a 2-week fix policy to make sure every client leaves happy—because let’s be real, we’re human, and humans make mistakes. But you’re totally right: nails popping off after 3 days? Not okay. You have every right to be a snob about it. Looking at your appointment history, it seems your first visit was as a walk-in, and we never had you booked under future appointments. Just a quick reminder: walk-ins are always first come, first served. So if you called and we had availability at that time, great—but if you arrived later, we couldn’t guarantee the spot would still be open. You did call wanting a fix the same day, and when you came in the following day, the salon was already fully booked. Our manager stayed calm, and respected your snobby attitude, and agreed your nails should not have popped off so soon. She offered to personally stay late that evening to fix your nails since you mentioned it was your only day off. She set the appointment, let you know she’d wait, and was ready to make it right. Unfortunately, it looks like you didn’t make it in. If you didn’t receive a confirmat

Poor quality nail services and discriminatory treatment by staff.

Business reply on Google

Hello Timothy, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. Normally, I’d reach out right away to see how we could make things right—but I was truly taken aback by your comment: “I was the wrong color and was treated like that.” As a business, we take comments like that seriously, because Nail Snob is a diverse, inclusive salon. During your visit, clients and staff of many different backgrounds were present—including individuals who share your background. We pride ourselves on being snobs about nails, not skin color. From what I observed, you and your wife seemed to be enjoying your time here—great movies, relaxing music, good conversation, and even some recommendations shared by our staff. At multiple points, we checked in to ensure you were comfortable and happy with your services. For clarity, our men’s manicures and pedicures are a clean-up around the cuticle, trim, file, and buff—finished with either a buff & shine or top coat. It’s a straightforward service, so I’m unsure what could have felt so “messed up.” That said, we understand that not every salon is the right fit for every client, and that’s okay too. We wish you and your wife the best, and thank you again for

Business reply on Google

Hello Lauryn, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I'm truly sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. At Nail Snob, we strive to provide every guest with high-quality service in a stylish and welcoming environment. I do wish concerns had been brought to our attention during your visit—especially when our technician asked if you were happy with your toes—so we could have addressed them right away. Our technician worked patiently with you as you selected two different colors, and we did our best to accommodate you as a walk-in on a busy holiday. As one of the few salons open that day, the team was under pressure, and while Cyd may have been feeling a bit overwhelmed, she still made every effort to provide excellent service. Sometimes, our signature “snob attitude” can come through a little strong, but it’s always meant to reflect high standards—not a lack of care. Regarding the dip powder service, Cyd shared that she took time to explain why we don't offer it, due to concerns about long-term nail health and maintenance. That conversation was meant to be informative and helpful—not mocking in any way. As for the chair, we sanitize all seating

Business refused to waive cancellation fee despite customer medical emergency

Business reply on Google

Hello Jamiee, Thank you for your feedback. We’re truly sorry we weren’t able to accommodate your request and that this situation caused any frustration. We make every effort to ensure our cancellation policy is clear to all clients. When booking online, you’re required to review and accept our policies—including our same-day cancellation policy, which states that the full cost of scheduled services will be charged. In your case, our team actually offered a reduced rescheduling fee as a courtesy instead of enforcing the full charge. Unfortunately, you were still unhappy with the fee. We understand that cancellation fees aren’t fun—trust us, we’ve been there too. But they’re in place to protect our team’s time and ensure fairness to all clients. We always appreciate a true Snob's high standards and attention to detail, and we hope to have the chance to welcome you back in the future under better circumstances. Warmly, The Nail Snob Team
