Katie, We’re going to respond clearly and factually so that anyone reading this understands exactly what occurred. When your vehicle was brought to us, it had a charging issue. During our diagnosis, we identified a coolant hose leaking directly onto the alternator, which was impacting the charging system. We reviewed multiple issues with you at that time; however, due to budget limitations, you authorized us to replace only the degraded hose. That was the only repair performed on your vehicle. Because the required OEM Volkswagen hose was backordered by the manufacture, your vehicle remained with us longer than anyone would have preferred. We kept you updated throughout that process and you agreed to wait for the OEM part. Your vehicle is a high milage 2012 with additional existing issues that were discussed with you. The cooling system and timing components you are now referencing were not accessed, adjusted, or repaired by our team during the authorized work. After pickup, you reported new concerns, and we explained what we were seeing at that point. Our team is highly experienced and regularly performs complex repairs, including major engine work. We do work on Volkswagen vehicle
The business quoted an excessively high price for a repair.
