Mechanic failed to fix ignition and caused dangerous brake failure.

Thanks for your feedback, Mr. Klaus. Although this happened almost seven months ago, we're sorry to hear you had a frustrating experience. We know how disappointing it can be when car trouble continues after a visit. In your case, we diagnosed the issue based on the voltage readings we got from the alternator, which pointed to a charging system problem at the time. The voltage output was below 12.1 volts and it needed to be at least 13.5 volts minimum. The photo of the alternator test you had done at Wal-Mart also showed that something was wrong with the alternator. It is not common, but it is possible for a starter and alternator to go out around the same time. With electrical issues, like a bad ground, overcharging, or voltage spikes, it could stress both the alternator and starter, leading to premature failure. Also, improperly jump-starting a vehicle can impact both the alternator and starter, and other components too, like the battery control module, which we ended up replacing upon your vehicle’s return. Losing brakes is serious, and we completely understand how upsetting and dangerous that situation must have been. Since then, we’ve made changes to strengthen our safety chec

Mrs. Ola, we were disappointed to see your one star review of our shop. After 16 years in business, it is always our aim to serve our customers with excellence and professionalism. We can understand your frustration of recently purchasing a truck and having an overheating problem right out of the gate. Your husband was the main point of contact throughout the repair and these are the things we discussed with him: 1) We thought it would be a good idea to take the truck back to the place you purchased the truck to see if there was anything they could do to make things right. We were told that this was not an option. 2) Your husband approved the testing for the overheating problem. Separate testing charges are very customary in the vehicle repair industry. We pay our techs for the time to do this testing. Systems are complex and it is not always a “one and done” test to know exactly what is going on. We follow a testing process and what you paid for was the first step of testing. We do specialize in trucks and many after market parts do not work effectively. This is why we recommended the OEM thermostat. The thermostat was approved by your husband. 3) The thermostat didn't solve the o

After 13 years in business, my husband and I have built our shop on three things: a good name is better than riches, treat people the way we’d want to be treated, and always exceed our customer’s expectations. Reviews are very important to us and to our industry. I am not sure who you are based on your profile, but I can say with all certainty that many people bring their vehicles to us that dealerships can’t even fix. To say we didn’t even try to repair your vehicle doesn’t sound like us. If you were not satisfied, it would have been our hope to have discussed this and worked things out just like we do with any of our customers. We are still willing to do so. Please call us at 281-883-8362
The business failed to diagnose or repair the customer's vehicle.
Business reply on Google
We are very sorry you were not satisfied with our services. Diagnosing a vehicle can be a process. Both of the items we diagnosed required driving your vehicle for awhile to see what lights may come back on and to see if the leak detection dye showed us exactly where to pinpoint the problem with your a/c. We’d love the opportunity to complete the repair but we’d need to evaluate what has happened with the diagnostics mentioned above. Please call 281-883-8362 and we will be happy to help.

Mr. Gorge, we apologize that your experience at our shop was not optimal. Diagnosing a vehicle is a process. Unfortunately, the first level of testing on your vehicle did not yield enough information to determine your issue. If given permission to move to the next level of diagnostics on your vehicle, we are confident our master technicians would have been able to get to the bottom of your vehicle’s problem. Please give us a call at 281-883-8362 if you would like to discuss this further. We are more than happy to help.

We apologize that you felt the service you received at Specialized Truck and Auto Service was dissatisfactory. As we discussed with you, we did pinch a wire to your stereo system when we were installing your heater core. We fixed the wire and completed the job upon the approved estimate. Everything was working well in your vehicle upon pick up. We guarantee our work and will always take care of our customers. We would like the opportunity to discuss this further. Please give us a call at 281-883-8362.
