Shop refused to repair window damaged while in their care

The business has high prices and rude customer service.

Business reply on Google

Jay, We do not have any record of you in our system. Most of our customers, as you can see by other reviews, have a great experience with us. I noticed you wrote 10 negative reviews at the same time in multiple states and several more in the days prior. Are you a real customer or just trying to score influencer points with Google? If you have a concern or useful feedback we welcome it. Matt, the owner

The business quoted higher prices and requested payment for fuel usage.

Business reply on Google

Hi Chris, thank you for the feedback. We’re sorry you did not have the 5 star experience most of our customers have. I’d like to clarify our process, as we take vehicle safety and repair verification very seriously. Regarding the fuel: Your vehicle had an EVAP (Evaporative Emission) fault. Per manufacturer specifications, the system’s self-test—which we must run to confirm a repair is successful—will only initiate when the fuel tank is between 15% and 85% full. With only 30 miles of range left, the car’s computer would not allow us to verify that the leak was actually fixed. We requested to add fuel simply so we could perform the necessary test drives to ensure you wouldn't have to return with the same light on a week later. As for the A/C, we pride ourselves on being a local, family-owned shop that performs thorough diagnostics rather than just 'part-swapping.' Our quotes reflect the use of high-quality parts and the time required to do the job right the first time. We understand that a high-volume chain like Sun Devil (owned by investment fund with over (550 locations) has a different business model, but we believe in a 'fix it right' approach for our neighbors here in Arizona. customer charged for ineffective air conditioning repair and incorrect diagnosis

Business reply on Google

Cory, I'm sorry we are unable to articulate in a way you can understand about your air conditioning system. The first step in any A/C repair is to make sure the system is full of charge and does not have leaks. The only way to measure the charge is to recover and weigh it. In your case we noticed the service valves were leaking ($16).We recovered and recycled the charge level and discovered your system was overcharged by 8 ounces, the valves were replaced and the system charged to the manufacturer specifications. After charging the system, as we discussed, the air blew cold for about 10 minutes then stopped. We determined teh A/C compressor is bad and present you an estimate for repair. That is our diagnosis. The valves are a common leak and not a "diagnosis" The "diagnosis" is the compressor is bad. Thanks for taking the time to discuss. I hope this helps you understand. Best regards

Customer charged high fees for services despite requesting a brake inspection.

Business reply on Google

Steven, Thanks for sharing. You brought your car in for concerns with the brakes and a complaint that the power window was not working. Fortunately, after a complete inspection we determined you did not need brakes. We removed the door panel to test and diagnose the inoperative window you came in for, and determined the window regulator is bad. We also performed a no charge maintenance inspection. We documented several deficiencies with car that were brought to your attention. We did perform an Automatic Transmission Service for $432. I"m not sure if you go to work for free but my employees need to be paid for their time and expertise. Does your Doctor remove the office visit or do free x rays and blood work? This is essentially what you are asking us to do. I hope you can find a shop that fits your financial needs, hopefully one day you can appreciate the value of other people's time when you receive service.

Excessive diagnostic fees charged without prior customer consultation.

Business reply on Google

Nina, I'm sorry to hear your frustration. However, you should recall that you had several concerns/problems with the car including: check engine light on intermittently for the past 10 days, difficulty starting cold, inspect or oil leaks, check work done by another shop, and inspect spark plugs. You were advised of charges on advance AND you agreed to leave the car overnight so we could test the cold start condition. Scanning codes is not diagnosis , there are two different things. At the end of the day, after we told you our initial findings, you suddenly decided you could not leave the car. The technician was gone for the day and your car was hooked to test equipment and had covers and shields removed. The service advisor accommodated your needs and took his time to put the car back together so you could take it. We did exaclylty what we agreed to for less than the potential amount quoted. You got exactly what you asked for and agreed to before we stated. If you like to discuss further or proceeded with the needed repairs please reach out to us. Again, I'm sorry your experience was not what you expected. Matt

The shop refused to perform a repair they previously agreed to.

As you can see, this is the same review written by the same person with three different Google accounts, the same day. As a matter of fact he wrote the same bad review for another shop. You cannot tell us you have a Ford Transit Van on the phone then show up on tow truck with gigantic delivery conversion van with a 14 Ft box on the back. It will not even fit in our shop. Apparently, you failed to tell the other shop the correct information as-well, so you wrote them a bad review too. It is pretty clear the poor communication is on you, and you want to blame others.

The business charges for inspections that are free elsewhere.

Business reply on Google

E.J., Im sorry you feel this way about your service, I'm still suprised you think we should provide servies for free. Do you go to work for free? No one forced you to purchase or pay for our Comprhenisve Vehicle Inspection, you requested it. We feel there is little ot no value in a free inspection, additionally if someone is doing free work, how do they get paid? Easy, they get paid by selling you something. Possibly something you do not need. We choose to offer a comprhensive inspection for a minor fee. We feel you get a more through inspection and there is no incentive to sell unnecessary work to make up for the time spent doing a "free inspection" Below is a quick write up about he pros and cons of a paid versus free inspection. Paying for a vehicle inspection during a service can have several benefits over getting a free inspection. Here are some key points to consider: Thoroughness and Quality Paid Inspection: In-depth Analysis: Paid inspections tend to be more comprehensive, covering all major systems of the vehicle. Technicians spend more time and use more advanced diagnostic tools. Qualified Technicians: These inspections are often performed by highly skilled and experience

Shop failed to diagnose vehicle issue despite charging for diagnostic test.

Business reply on Google

David, I'm sorry you didn't have a great experience like most do. When your girlfriend called, before you brought the car in, I explained the testing process and charges associated to her. We never spoke to you on the phone prior and did not make any assurance the test would find your problem. I told Courtney, based on her description of the problem (not starting), it sounded like a battery or starter issue, and we would perform a series of tests related to that "system". The first step in any repair is to test the system that is having issues...we tested the starter, the battery, and the alternator and they all tested good. After confirming those components were good, we hooked up a series of test lights and meters hoping we could duplicate the problem. We let your car get hot and go through several heat cycles throughout the day and the car started for us at least 40 times. With these lights and meters hooked up, if the problem had been duplicated, we would have been able confirm the point of failure and make a repair suggestion. Unfortunately, the concern you were having never happened while the car was here for the day. We never told you there was nothing wrong with the car...w

Excessive diagnostic fees were not disclosed prior to the appointment.

Business reply on Google

Jason, I just listened to the 3+ minute phone call from when you made your appointment. After calling around and not being able to find a shop to diagnose your car, you were referred to us by another shop in the area that is also not properly equipped or capable of diagnosing and repairing your vehicle. They referred you because we’re good and have the equipment and experience. You specifically asked about asked about OBD1 diagnosis on your 30-year-old (1992) Mercury Grand Marques. In your appointment call, you stated you already replaced everything "from the charcoal canister to the purge valve and the EGR Valve and tube" You went on to describe a complex intermittent problem where the light only comes on briefly..."it’s hard to explain...it only comes on after driving on the freeway for 2-3 minutes at 60 mph plus, then it turns off when I get off the freeway…The way it runs doesn’t change." We do not use terminology such as "running codes". A code only indicates an area of concern, then testing and troubleshooting is required to accurately complete a diagnosis. We do charge for our time, tools, and knowledge to diagnose and repair vehicles. I hope you can find someone that fits y

The business quoted significantly higher prices than a competitor.

Business reply on Google

Ross, Thanks for the feedback. I will review all your service documentation and phone records to see if we could have done better for you. If you don't mind I would like to follow up with you after my review. We strive to give the best service and value for all of our customers. Perhaps you are willing to share the final invoice from the brake shop you went to? It does not seem possible for them to do the same job with the same quality parts for half the cost??? I look forward to an opportunity to chat. Matt Allen, Owner

Mechanic recommended unnecessary engine replacement without inspecting the vehicle.

Business reply on Google

Jay, Your daughter pulled into an extremely busy shop, with a car she recently purchased, with out an appointment. A couple mechanics stopped the work they were doing and looked under the hood and there was fluid/oil everywhere. She was asked to go in the office to get paperwork started so we could get her on the schedule for an evaluation. She never went to the office, instead, she just parked the car in our lot, never came inside and returned later to get the car. No one ever "pushed a new motor"...we don't have time for nonsense like that! I doubt all she needed was oil, however we do not know for sure since we never spent any amount of time looking at the car. If you would like to discuss further please call the shop and ask for Matt
