Hey K G. We apologize for any past issues you may have had. We are under new ownership now and strive to do the best job we can! Sorry for anything you dealt with in the past.
Improper packaging caused items to arrive shattered and damaged.

I'm sorry you had this experience. We always strive to provide the best service possible. We always assess items to ensure proper packing. Apparently, we failed on this one as it was packed as "non-fragile" rather than a "fragile-wrap". We apologized for that. We offered you $10 off the new shipment because you said the broken candle had a $10 value and we were trying to make good on that. The new shipment was for larger items and was going to be packed as "fragile-wrap", which means the three items would each be individually bubble wrapped and then placed in a box with 2 inches of styrofoam peanuts around them. This would ensure no damage in shipping. All the carriers charge by both size and weight. This package, because of the cushioning required, rated as 14 lbs. even though it actually weighed less. That was strictly because of the size. I'm glad you found a solution you like better for less money. I can tell you that $20 is less than my cost for this package, so I do hope it's packed correctly and arrives safely. Again, our apologies for not packing your original one correctly. I can only surmise we didn't realize there was glass. There's no excuse for that and we're sorry.
Excessive pricing for international shipping and unhelpful staff assistance.

Katherine, I'm sorry you felt that way. You came in for an estimate with minimal information. We tried to educate you (we ARE shipping experts) about dimensions, weights, etc., even providing examples of how changing dimensions of the box will affect the price. You wanted a price to ship a box that had a dimensional weight of 30 lbs. internationally to Colombia via DHL. If you check the DHL web site, you will find the same price we gave you. We always strive to provide excellent service to all our customers. I'm sorry you were disappointed.
Package delivery was delayed due to failure to pick up on time.

Nellie, sorry you had this experience, however, your issue is with the post office, not us. Dropping off a USPS package here is the same as putting it in the mailbox. We just give it to the postal carrier when they pick up each day. I'm not even sure this package was dropped off here, since you say it was picked up at 6:00 PM. USPS picks up here between 2:30 and 3:00, so I really don't know how it's showing at 6:00. If you let me have the tracking number I can look to see what the status is and let you know, but we have no control over the US Postal Service or any recourse with them. Again, my apologies.
Customer overcharged for shipping services compared to standard market rates.

Robert, I'm sorry you are unhappy with our pricing. A few points: 1. The price for the packing was for the box, peanuts, tape and labor, not just a box. The price was very reasonable to ensure your laptop arrived undamaged. 2. The declared value coverage charge of $20 provided coverage for loss or damage up to $750 with no deductible. Again, a very reasonable price. 3. I'm not sure where you got your data for the UPS Store pricing, however, as I explained to you on the phone, the shipping price was based on the size, not the weight (the size of the box rated the shipment at 24 lbs., not 7.5), the distance (you're about as far from Austin as you can get and still be in the continental US), plus because you live in a rural area, the carriers add a delivery area surcharge. In fact, the price you claim would be below my cost. I'm sure you don't expect me to charge you less than UPS charges me. 4. Most importantly in all this, your daughter-in-law called you while she was here and gave you the pricing. You agreed to the price BEFORE we completed the transaction. If you were unhappy, you could have just said no and asked her to go elsewhere. Given your pre-approval of the price I don't t
The business quoted significantly higher shipping prices than a competitor.

DeeAnn - As I explained to you, the 4 lb. package was rated at 16 lbs. due to the size after we would have packed it. Since you were sending glass bottles with vinegar and oil in them, in order to survive the rigors of the shipping systems (packages thrown, falling off conveyor belts, heavy packages falling on top of them, etc.) we needed to put at least two inches of peanuts all around the bottles to ensure they would arrive unbroken. I'm sorry you felt that was unreasonable and I'm glad you were able to find a service you agreed with. We always strive to provide excellent service (as you noted above) and I'm sorry we were unable to accommodate your desires. I do hope your packages arrive intact. I'll also note we did ship another package for you for less than $20 - one that didn't have breakables in it.
Staff refused to provide a shipping envelope for a drop off.

Abhay, I'm so sorry you had this experience. The employee you spoke with is very new and still in training. We certainly have carrier envelopes available for the occasional drop off. We do limit the supplies to only what's needed at the time to ensure we always have enough supplies for our paying customers. I'm sure he just misunderstood that and I will certainly make sure he's clear on how to handle these situations in the future. Again, my apologies. Joel
Owner refused service and discriminated against a minority-owned business.
Business reply on Google
This review is completely false and unsubstantiated and borders on slander and libel! The facts are: Mr. Bruck signed up for a virtual mailbox with iPostal1, one of our vendors. We administer the mail for them in Austin. Mr. Bruck refused to fill out the required USPS documentation in order to open the mailbox, claiming it wasn't required. His phone calls and e-mails were highly abusive. Having never met Mr. Bruck, we have no way to know if he's a minority or not. Even if he is, we never discriminate against anyone and anyone who knows us will vouch for us on that. We refused to do business with him due to his abuse and refusal to submit documentation. We have been in business for 14 years and, between physical and virtual mailboxes, we have nearly 300 very happy and satisfied customers. As to payment, iPostal1 bills the customer, not us - and they have cancelled his account and refunded all his money. Bottom line - Mr. Bruck is a customer we would all be better off without. He refuses to do his part, then gets angry and abusive and makes false and unsubstantiated claims, including filing bogus reviews.
Overcharged for shipping and unexpected technology fees applied to printing services.

I'm sorry you felt unvalued. We do value all our customers. I would like to clarify a few points. The price quoted for the shipping was not double. It was about $10 higher. At the the end of the transaction, you spent about 15 minutes of your time to do it yourself and only ended up saving about $3. You were told the e-mail fee was $2, however, my employee didn't realize you were sending four e-mails. She assumed only one. I apologize for that miscommunication. You were actually only charged for three of the four. I did call up to her about adding another when the last e-mail came through so she would know about it. I apologize for that. I should have walked up front rather than yelling out. We believe we provide excellent value for our services. Sometimes we're higher and sometimes we're lower. However, we strive to always be the best at what we do. I'm sorry we let you down this time.
